inghy :)...Its a Plastimo,it needs an inflator, does anybody kno if any old pump will do or does it have to have some special locking or latching device to go into the valves ?

We used to get by putting a wad of cloth in the inlet and use a garage air line (without the tyre valve fitting) in to the cloth. The high pressure blasted through the cloth. Inflated in a few seconds.

edit: air lines can make you wake up dead if mishandled. Anyone else remember the safety poster re caging tyres while inflating? The one showing the shape of a man on the ceiling.

I have a mix of Tesco / Aldi 12 and 240v airbed inflators (cheap as chips - that's why I have several...)

most of them have stepped nozzles and I can blow up my collection of Avon dinghies - different style of valves - as well as devices with Boston valves.

They run out of puff at about 80% inflated, then finish off with the "proper" pump.
