Friend keeps a Hurley 18 on the River Avon at Tewkesbury so we managed to get there through the floods to see what had happened. Luckily his Hurley is ok so long as she moves out to the river when the floods go down, a few others were not so lucky. one had broken its mooring, crossed the river and can be seen about 1/2 mile away at the far end of a field on the other side of the river! Three others have sunk, one of which landed on the scaffold poles that formed it's mooring stage - puncturing the hull in two places. Complete devastation and heart-breaking for quite a few boat owners. My thoughts are with the Tewkesbury Cruising and Sailing Club. I took some photos, will get some downloaded later.
