Just back from Meganisi and Ithaca in 35 degrees with clear water, and I went down to the boat at Ramsholt and the water is grey and muddy, and I got so close on a falling tide to grounding or ‘mudding’ because the distances between tacks are so much shorter and I only had 30cm under the keel as I went round, plus it was only 1.5 hrs after HW at the time (phew, it would have been a very long day on the wonk), but all was well and there were only 2 other boats out, I got a nice, cold pint at the Ramsholt Arms under a tree with a breeze and I just thought - Sailing the Ionian is great, but I do love it here.
