....regarding the waste form I've been given. It seems to state that waste including rubbish must be handed into the relevant port authority and signed off. Same for black water.

We have a small (60l) holding tank but this has no pump out facility except overboard.

We're currently tied up to the town quay at Argostoli, right behind us are some large green bins. Does this mean that we can't just ditch our rubbish bags in town bins?

I asked the CG but they were, although friendly, a bit vague on the issue. So do we have to hang on to our rubbish bags, cramming them into the bilge or can we use bins where we see them?

Cheers,

C.

Rubbish !

Green bins are re-cycling bins (with pretty pictures of what you may put in them) and black bins are for general rubbish. All these bins are communal. Households trek daily to the nearest and dump their own gash in them. Boats do the same.

Green bins , hereon Kefalonia , are for normal rubbish , the blue bins are for plastics and the yellow for paper , and the latter 2 have the lids fixed so the re, cycs have to be posted through a slot in the lid .
Enjoy Argostoli , its a charming place .

Rubbish indeed!

The meters cubed is for large cruise ships which dump container loads at a time.

Sorry about the colour blindness about the rubbish bins. Indeed, blue is for re-cycling. All other colours (galvanised, black, green, khaki, whatever) are for the rest. Green (with bits of blue) is the colour of the natty bags issued to households so they can store re-cycle stuff separately.
