Passing Thames Motor Yacht Club today....(that lot by Molsey Lock) and there were 8 boats on the outer pontoon....alll around 35 to 40 feet.
Now get this (Clive, are you listening???) of the 8, one was a Fairline soomething or other ....ALL the rest were BROOMS !!!!
Now, heres the question......does this say something about Brooms or is it a reflection on the people who belong to the club?

As an aside, there was a Pr*nc*ss xxx (like Byrons) a bit further up the river....why do people in posh boats think they dont need to move up the waiting area at locks.......??? (belonged to the aforementioned club as well.......)

If they put the best boats on the outside then its a shame they can only put Brooms on display!.....

I now know the boat you refer to and I have come across their ill manners before. Unfortunately those sort of people add to the regrettable reputation that club has built for itself.

Go on Barry, and turf off all those Princess, Fairlines & Brooms and get some real class there.

I was once invited to tie up there in, wait for it, my narrow boat! That was when narrow boats on the Thames were a novelty.
