JRC radar cable connections

might have failed because the previous owner didn't get long enough cable ...

each cable in the bundle is colour coded and you shouldn't have any trouble re-connecting it - so long as you have the other end of the cable going to the display and the display plug is still attached.

I soldered each bare end (to make a better connection) and then connected each cable to a strip terminal block inside a box. Stuffed sealant in the holes to keep it watertight.

Good luck ...

I installed a JRC radar and had to cut the cable. I made a junction box from a piece of wood and mounted a row of normal connectors using ones of different sizes according to the sizes of the individual wires within the cable.
I then connected like to like and it seems to work perfectly.
It is probably best to try and put the pairs of wires in parallel ie side by side and thread them through from one side of the connector and then tighten down both securing screws so the conductivity is from wire to wire rather than through the brass connector.
I covered the whole lot with a plastic food container. Make sure there is a 'U' in the cable before and after it enters the junction box to prevent water entering the box.

The little video coax cable is the only problem. I suggest you add a short stub of normal sized wire to the end and then hot melt glue and shrink sleeve the connection back to the inner insulation so no mechanical force can be applied to the tiny inner wire. I use small coax connectors to properly support the wire.
