Just been there for lunch - top marks for the seafood. Well recommended for excellent value for money as well as ambience. A little jewel.

We went there by boat about a year ago. A few days before springs with 4 foot draft and left grooves in the mud for the last 50 yards or so to the quay. Well marked so you shouldn't have too much trouble on 3 foot draft.

Took the Mooses one Friday evening and arrived at 21:25. Bar lady says we have to order food before 21:30 so started to order. Then talked to chef and all she would do was fish and chips. This was a disappointment because Moose way paying!

Subsequently went with family on a Sunday evening. Service was poor and food was mediocre, e.g. I shared the seafood platter (for 2) and although quantity was good, it was uninspiring and crab was distinctly 'offish'.

Despite this it is a nice spot and better than the Jolly Sailor on the Hamble.

Getting in and out can be interesting with a careful check on the tides being essential. As stated the last 20 yds to the quay are particualrly shallow.

Used to be the favourite destination set by a YM Instructor I know in any boat up to 2m draft.

I've taken a Sigma 33 (d: 2 m) there at HW springs (which broadly conincides with lunchtime). You have about an hour each side of HW.
