Somewhat of an acquired taste, I feel. Hope the boat works better than the website.
Very heavily constructed so should be a safe boat with good seakeeping. Is it worth 30k?
I doubt it, huuuge wetted area = slow sailing, offset prop, manoeuvering nightmare.

I had a bit of a browse of the website, but couldn't find a build date. Anyone know? 1930? 1990?
I was thinking of buying it at one point as its so unusual, but it could be difficult to sell on.
Yes Fram was built to Colin Archer design to such a shape with no visible keel as such so as to pop out of the ice.Heavy does not equal good seakeeping in itself (ask any naval architect) + Fram had reportedly a very bad motion that made everyone seasick, she was built for another purpose.

That's why she survived her trip across the Arctic Ocean ;took Amundsen down to Antarctica and continued as a Norwegian research vessel well into the 1930s.
And still looks as good as new 124 years on!
