Having very cleverly cut my roller reefing line short I need to join two sections of braid on braid line without using a knot so that the line will stay pretty much the same diameter on the join.
Grateful for suggestions - I am afraid splicing if it is possible is a bit out of my ability. Mike

I think if it were me, I would start again with a new piece of rope.

I assume there are splices for braid end-to-end, though I've only ever done eyes, but I would always worry about the strength of it. When you're crashing to windward in a F7 the last thing you need is to suddenly have a full genoa unroll because the reefing line has parted.

It must be possible, as I have in-mast furling, and it is controlled using an endless braided line, spliced end to end. I don't know how to do it.

^^re above video . . . he should have tapered all the buried ends rather than just cutting them square.

This splice is not too hard with new rope . . . But most double braid splices get to be quite difficult with old used rope.
