I have a Johnson 2.5hp 4 stroke bought this last season. These are a rebadged Suzuki model. I heard Suzuki had recalled some of theirs to replace the pump impeller. Can any Suzuki owners confirm if this is the case?

FWIW my Suzuki (bought July) hasn't been recalled.

I bought my Suzuki in Sept 2005. It was recalled a couple of months later.

On a related but slight tangent about rebadging:
I am currently shopping for an outboard for my Jaguar 22 and from what I am hearing at the various Marine dealers I have spoken to, there are quality issues between different "brands" even though the bits are made by the same parent. One comment was "even though Jetmarine are (made by) Yamaha, the materials they are put together with are more brittle and therefore dont last as long". I did not press the chap for a more detailed explanation as I was not actually considering either of these brands anyway but I am wondering what others with more experience make of these comments and if there is any basis for other comparisons.
