The Johnson seawater pump fitted to my engine has developed a slight water leak - no doubt one of the seals need replacing. Can these pumps be serviced by an amateur or indeed a professional other than Johnson. Any advice gratefully received

easily serviceable diy, the lip seals with s/s spring readily available.

Easily done on a bench with a vice.

If it's the lip seal gone just replacing that probably won't cure the problem, long term, - while about it you might as well replace the bearing.
I got my parts direct from Johnson, their prices were a fraction of Yanmar's official spares.
