Ran it yesterday, new E5 fuel & it started third pull & ran like a sewing machine, absolutely spot on. Well pleased.
Chas newens marine has parts & an impeller is on order, thinking it works now but would be a good idea to fit a new one as its been out of service for so long.
A useful exploded diagram of the engine with part no's can be found here,https://www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-parts.php?year=2001&hp=5&model=J5RSIM,
I noticed that there are two tiny air jets in the carb, they are specific to their holes but are different sizes, one is 1.2mm bore the other 0.9mm You need a magnifying glass to read the numbers.
They were in the right place but its something else to get wrong!
