I've been fitting a kill-cord to my Johnson 3.5 (mostly because my son is now taking an interest in 'driving' the tender!) and whilst doing so have discovered a problem, or is it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Having removed the control panel from the back of the engine, I noticed that the rear of this panel forms a chamber which fits over the back of the carb air inlet. I would have thought (from car engine experience) that an air filter might be fitted into this chamber, but there is none present. Should there be one, or does such a simple engine not require one?
I can't find the manual and have searched online...
Thanks guys!
