Johnson 25hp

Can anyone help please, I have posted a few times about a Johnson 25hp but this is another one, a Johnson 25hp undone the gear housing bolts and the gear change stem and it will not pull out, it will come so far and it is as if there is something attached to shaft and catching on something, any ideas please

You dont say what year model or give the model number but very possibly the drive shaft is rusted in to the crankshaft.

Have you disconnected the gear shift connection behind the stater motor
