I am sad to report that John Bradley passed away at 00.30 hours this morning. His wife Joan was holding his hand as he slipped away quietly, as always ever the gentleman even in his last moments not creating a fuss. Earlier in the evening he'd had a couple of Scotch Whiskeys after a light supper.
Those that knew him will remember he always had his G&T in a glass hanging from his neck on a bit of string. He acted as a Judge in almost all the major boat handling competitions and was no mean boat handler himself. With John's going a glimpse of what yachting was like when it was the pass time of gentlemen has gone too, he was a great respecter of traditions. Motor Boating has lost a real character and I for one will miss him dearly. Maybe it is fitting that John died on Remembrance Sunday he was after all ex Royal Navy and had seen active service.
