I've just watched a series of four YouTube videos 'Aboard Mark Prior' showing just one trip from Fingringhoe to Deptford Wharf with 280 tons of sand and gravel. Fascinating stuff, particularly seeing all those familiar marks. I didn't know that the wharf and crane at Deptford were also Prior's.
Many years ago, making heavy going in the Swin, one of the Prior's boats, London-bound, came over for a closer look and gave us an encouraging wave.
