Sadly, for the second time, Jim's starter motor has packed up.... not a great advert for the Yanmar engine set up....
Also, not ideal when you are at anchor, you've just laid out 26m of 10mm chain, and a whacking great big anchor, its blowing the best part of 20kts, and your electric windlass has a cut out switch so that you can't run it without the engine running..... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
A less disastrous failure than my own mainsheet block expolding while flying downwind in 28kts of wind with a full set of sails up!, but there's another story /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Having seen a most unusual picture on one of FullCircle's posts, I reckon the bad back is a result of the strain incurred by trying to helm the boat with a rather unorthodox part of his body. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
No, sadly, we are diverted, as Lynn is working and she wants me to rest up, chill out, and keep my blood pressure under control.
I think we will head up to Fambridge for a couple of days lazy boat fixing, especially as there is no guarantee yet of my Genoa returning from the valet.

Jim, if we go, you're welcome to a berth on Stargazer (it depends on our various boaty problems getting resolved this week).
To help with the blood pressure, we'll promise Lynn to tuck you up bed in a not too-inebriated state, and to keep you away from all those rough boys on Morgana, Sirenia and Jolie Brise.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
A marvellous offer indeed John.
Lynn meant NOT rushing hither and thither up to the Deben, especially as she is working Monday. We are therefore going to Fambridge pontoon to sort out the stuff I haven't done, in a relaxed fashion. So if you hear of some bloke diving into the Crouch to look for a winch drum dropped over the side, that will be me.
Mayhap the supply base will let me have the rest of my boat back too:
Mantsbrite/Burnham Yacht Harbour for my NMEA cable/plug
Wilkinson Sails for my Genoa
French Marine for my Starter Motor
