Jill is a little aux. sloop 26' long built in 1935 by Camper & Nicholsons at Gosport, Bermudian rig, canoe stern, deep shallow lead keel.It was coming in France in 1952 and since this date is based in the French Riviera where I recently purchased it. Presently in a renovation process in Marseille, I try to find any infos about this boat and its history. As far as I know it could has belonged to a little serie called "Grebe II". This name is mentionned on a document "sails and rigging plan" dated of 1935 and re-drawed in 1944.
If anyone has something about or adress where I could usefully find infos, let me know,
many thanks.

Owned in 1955 by E.T.D.Burton. Registered port Cannes. C&N 1935 confirmed. Burton's address was given as: Home Cottage, Quartier Columbier, Mougins (AM) France. As I recall there's a decent caff nearby.
Isn't a jill a female ferret?
Old Frank - surprising where us country boys get to.....

Hello Oldfranck

Thank you for your quick answer.
I known already, thanks to the French Custom Administration, that Mr Burton lived at Mougins and sent his boat to a Toulon's citizen in 1955. So I have tried already to contact him but unfortunatly nobody of this name lives presently there.
Do you have something else before 1952 concerning the Jill's life in Great Britain ?
Sorry for my bad english, I naively though that Jill was a diminutive for Jillian only , but now, I know all the names for the ferret family and it would probably more correct for me to sign this message as hob !
