Replacement jib Sheet

I have in the past been frightened by the shackle attaching sheets to jib flailing around in a strong breeze. It could do serious damage.
My solution is perhaps perverse.
I have just one sheet of double the usual length. I double it and poke the middle through the relvant hole. I then poke both sheet ends through the loop and pull tight. I then have a very small knot and no hard bits to brek my spectacles.

I am with those who don't like shackles flailing about on the end of a foresail. I use a one piece sheet with a soft eye whipped into the centre (that is a shortish loop of rope long enough to pass through the sail cringle) . When whipping this eye I also whip in a short legth of rope - about 6 inches long. To attach the sheet I pass the eye through the cringle and then the short piece of rope through the eye to prevent it pulling out again.

I said that 'bout 1/2 hour earlier! :p
