jetski\'s

can anyone tell me the average range fuel consumption of jetski's ball park figure would be great. Also anyone recommend jetski sites to view.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
have a nice day!

Re: jetski\'s

Hi, try having a look at Offshore performance Poole, friendly helpful and willing to haggle if your sensible. Also take a look at Sea Doo site or any of the others Kawasaki, Polaris etc. I had a Sea Doo GTi prior to getting the boat. I'm now wake fodder ever time I go into Langstone harbour, but what goes around comes around etc....Fuel economy and range really down to high its ridden. Kwaks tend to be a bit thirsty as three pot engine. i think mine held about 10 gallons and that would give me about 6-10 mpg.

Great fun, still miss mine. I'll have to get a boat that has a bigger enough platform to take one!

How long is a piece of string ? Jetski's range from 30hp to over 150hp and from 150kg to 350kg fuel consumption and range depend on the type of ski.

For touring you will be much better off with a three seater. In general Yamahas are the most fuel thirsty. Kawasaki's and Sea Doo's are better. Direct injection models are the most efficient on the market at the moment (Sea Doo GTX Di & Kawasaki Di )

If its ultimate range and fuel efficiency you are after Seadoo are about to launch a 4 stroke version.

Websites are actualy a bit scarce but try jetskier.co.uk they have an active forum and a decent links page.

Just get an extended bathing platform like I did, I picked up my new toy (A Kwak stand-up) yesterday.

I spent an hour riding it, got so cold that I did'nt stop shivering till the 3rd brandy ( I know it makes it worse but its a great excuse !!) and woke up this morning to find every muscle in my body screaming for mercy.

But I havent had as much fun in a long time :)

Re: jetski\'s

Consumption tends to be about 6 cans of cheap lager per person per run. This unfortunately also results in the volume of communications between shore and jetskiers increasing so that everyone within 1 mile is let in on the message that "for
F### sake Slasher can I have a go on the F####### thing now you ####t.The jetski must be towed by a white van with preferably a south london phone number. All empty cans must be left on site for removal by the next tide.........

Hard work never did anyone any good. You die from it.

Now that one did tickle me, we see lots of jetskis in the med and off portugal, they come out to jump over my wake, not that there is much of one, but that doesn't stop them, they don't bother me unlsee I'm at anchor, then it's the noise, but what the hell, live and let live, I was young once and if they had been around then, I would definitely have had one! They look fun!!

I get the feeling that jet skiing is not one of your favorite past times then Haydn? For some decent sport try coming into Langstone harbour on a bank holiday Monday. Or for real fun why not go under the Sea Cat in Portsmouth harbour, or Poole.

I gave it up, got too wet, too cold, didn't enjoy being on the back with my 13 yr old speed freak son, wife didn't like it either, etc etc. Much happier with a nice cosy saloon and cockpit fridge, cold beers. Anyway I couldn't drink my favorite beer on the 'ski, kept on spilling it

Kevin.
