Has anyone any advice on jet ribs - looking at the Zodiac 3.5m and comparing it to the Avon.

Before I spend any dosh, if anyone has any experience of these or any other makes, all comments welcome.

CJ has just gone off to Brittany he has recently bought one so best ask him I think Paul. I have seen a few recently and if I had a big enough boat I would have one.

No personal experience of them but someone in Exmouth has a Squadron 50+ footer with one on the back and his comment was that he wouldn't have another but not sure why, sorry probably not much help.

I bought the Avon 320 as a tender. The Zodiac was slighlty beamier making the fit on the boat to tight.

Also, the driving position and seating was poor in comparison.

I have the Avon 320. Excellent.

It's how shall we say, "available" 26 hours, 2 years old.

Pm if interested.

Funnily enough had one fitted onto the back of my F43 two weeks ago, Zodiac 350 that is. Absolutely brilliant. Preferred it to the Avon of same size due to the greater internal dimensions which allowed all 4 members of family to get in and to shore in one go. In fact had 6 in it last week coming back up (or is it down) the Beauliea (?) River to Bucklers hard after a good night out at the Montagu Arms, with no problems and nobody getting wet.
Does seem to use a hell of a lot of the 4* stuff though and smokes a little on tick over but talk about go like hell!! Best fun I've had with clothes on for a long time, my lads have even had me in a ringo off the back of it, which was fun, so they tell me, I really can't remember, eyes wide shut and all that.
Theres no doubt they do restrict access but not to bad, on ours anyway and being white bringing them along to stern does result in rather unattractive black marks being left on the tubes from Diesel "Soot", which seem a real wotsit to shift. Perhaps I need some of this fantastic "boat cleaner/acid" I've seen mentioned on here recently. If you're anywhere Ocean Village and fancy a go, send me a PM.
