Went on a 777 to Hawiie for Xmas cruise via L.A. Great plane and AA give you bags of legroom. Boat done all the Islands and even visited a live volcano with lava flow. Had the honour of standing on the youngest piece of land on earth. The boat was not U.S. flagged so had to go 1000 miles south to the Republic of Kirabati, which was over the dateline and 200 miles short of the equator. The little atol which is only 8ft above sea level called Fanning Island had only 300 natives, no power or phones. No one was old as they have no dentist or doctor. They rely on the 2-3 week visits of the ship which cant anchor due to the depth of the water. The problem now is that Iam 10hours jet lagged and am tired during the day and awake at night. Anyone have any tips in getting back to time? Dave.

Oddly enough, I think that being jetlagged might have something to do with which way around the world you travel. When flew to the UK from Oz via Hong Kong in 2000, I had no trace of jetlag, but when I flew home again I was useless for nearly a week. [Some might say I've been like that for years.] Outward bound, I flew with the sun's rotation, homeward bound I was against it. Perhaps the cure is to fly around the world westbound.
Peter.

Great sounding trip. I find that drink usually helps with jet lag. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
