One thought, (cannot spare more). Having three jester levels. A wee certificate could be sent/emailed to anyone completing the requirements. (As agreed by the non organizers). The trips do not have to start from Plymouth and you can go where you like.

Bronze: 500nm solo non stop. (qualifier)
Silver: 1,200nm solo (Azores)
Gold: 3,000nm solo (USA)

Heresy!
"The race will have no sponsors, no organising clubs, no rules, no official acceptances, no pre-arranged facilities or festivities at either end, no entrance fee, no handicaps, no disqualifications, no race numbers, no official finishing order, no official dinner…."

The above quote is from one of Blondie's notebooks that recently came to light, and was passed on by Ewen in one of his signals. Not that the Jesterers are strictly kosher, there has been the occasional flirtation with the odd tie or burgee and suchlike. But, hey, let's keep their guilty secret just between ourselves and the rest of the internet. :D

There seems to be no end of awards currently under the Jester Challenge, no prizes system. I just did an inventory and I have.
2006/7- Crystal Mug and Crystal Plaque, cap badge, Burgee, and tie.
2008 - Crystal Plaque, cap badge and Burgee.
2010 - Crystal Mug, cap badge and Burgee.
2012 - Cap badge.

I also have received various fun items such as a cardboard Fray Bentos Pie and a real minature of the liqueur Glayva.

I suppose I completed my 500 mile qualifier in 2003 but have received nothing for that other than the knowledge that Glayva is strong even if she doesn't like waves.

I think for a non organisation that has no fees and supposedly there is no recognition of achievement, we seem to break our non rules.

I don't think anyone means "no festivities", the statement was no "organized" - ie pre-arranged - festivities.

Quite different!
