I think either would be okay. As tO the fit out below I looked at a few AWB boats in the 40 foot range when I bought my Bavaria, many had a hard life as a charter boat, still looked well down below after years of hard use.

I had no idea that the Bavaria 41 dated from the same era as Sailorman's Oyster 37. I guess you learn something new everyday.

what will these "New designs" be like in 20 yrs

Both will probably serve the purpose very well but you will need to find the one that has the layout you want. D you want a 2 or 3 cabin boat? The linear galley in one dufour I looked at seems to work well with the table arrangement but you may want the galley nearer the hatch in warmer climates.

Coming down tomorrow to sale my boat from Poole to Southampton tuesday night in yarmouth and wednesday night in Ocean Village had 42 I in the British Virgin Islands in April it was a good boat hopefully going across the channel next Tuesday so will be around till Sunday
