2007 Sun Odyssey 45. Yanmar 75 engine. Salt water leak traced to the water lock. A stainless unit inside the port engine bearer. Have managed to get the pipe work off but now stuck. The unit will not slide out as one of the fittings is above the bearer level. I can only think this is screwed into the main body but I simply can’t get it to move even with a drift and heavy hammer. So, is there a trick I don’t know or, a good engineer local to Gosport marina? Many thanks for any thoughts. Terry.

Oh dear, on my own on this one then? I’ve managed to drill a dimple in the stub flange and drift the fitting about 6-7mm. I was hoping this would ease the thing to unscrew but no luck, stuck fast again. With no other ideas I’m beginning to think cutting the pipe may be the only option. More brilliant design in the leisure boat market!
