We are in the process of having new wire made up for our 42iP.

On each side where the ball studs pass the load through the deck there are 2 substantial "pancake" connectors - which are held together by 4 bolts from below. The rigger expected there to be sikaflex at the deck to prevent leaks. Not so - the upper (outside) connector pancake has o-rings round each bolt hole (16mm ID 2.5mm section) . The seal with the deck is quite flat. There was a small trace of white RTV which I think was mainly to stop the rings falling out of place during installation.
Anyway, below deck from the inside connector pancake is a further ball stud which is on the rod which come up from the inside hull connection. There is a fork at the hull load connector.
I had no great difficulty disassembling the two pancake connectors at the deck - and see nothing complex about putting them back (new o-rings mind you!).
How tight should the internal lower connector rod from the deck to hull be? Good hand tool tight or cheater-bar tight?
There are flats on the rod for adjustment. Obviously that would be done after the through- deck connectors are bolted up.

Anybody else know how tight the internal rods should be?

I wouldn't have thought it would be necessary to adjust them. If the rigging tensioned up OK before, they must be correctly adjusted.
