I have a 2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42DS. Stuart Davies, the PBO resident engineer, who’s great by the way, helped me buy her. After 4 years she has now developed a throttle slip problem. The ideal RPM for her at 6Kts is around 2500. But she slips back to 1800 RPM. I asked Jeanneau but they were hopeless and said just take her to one of their dealers. I think it’s a teleflex unit. Does anyone know how to adjust the friction to help retain the throttle setting please? Phil

I had the same problem with my Volvo single lever control. There is friction screw under the cover which is accessed by removing the snap on cover after removing the control lever. The control lever is fixed to the shaft with a grub screw on the underside.

Hello and thank you for your input. You are indeed correct. I found the adjustment screw where you said. I was particularly stupid as before writing the question here I had removed the 4 screws holding the teleflex onto the hull, needless to say one nut fell off and so I had to climb inside the hull to reattach the nuts! But it was a simple operation. So much so I cannot understand why Jeanneau would advise me to take the boat to Lisbon to get it repaired, especially as the boat is in Albufeira! Thank you again all. Phil

Friction screw under the cover. I need to do mine as well.

The case is an aluminium casting and the screws steel Allen bolts so they both corrode themselves tight and are hard to get a grip on. So remember to grease them when they go back in.
