Many Thanks to all who advised re my squeaking twin rudder mechanism.
After much probing and greasing I tracked it down to the nylon spherical bearings at the end of the control rods between the central spindle arm and the rudder arms.
The securing bolts had been over tightened so as to compress the male spherical and remove any working clearance.
Loosening the self locking nuts a little fixed the problem and we now have a nice quiet boat.
