Hi all

I have been having quite a close look at the new 32i - certainly seems like quite a lot of boat for the money.

Has anyone else looked at these new models recently? The one thing that really appeals is the galley layout.

Let me know if you have heard any major negatives as I am thinking of maybe putting the deposit down. Delivery dates are currently May - just in time for the Oostende trip!

As always thanks for the advice.

Cheers

Spent a fortnight recently on a slightly bigger SO 37. Overall very impressed with the boat. Only real nitpick was the cavernous interior and lack of handholds made moving about below and working in the galley in heavy seas pretty interesting. Minor price to pay for all that lovely space though.
Don't know if the 32 has a glass splashback to the sink area but I literally flew through the air and landed on the one on the 37. How it didn't break I'll never know.

Hi Colin

Thanks for that. The 32 doesn't come with the glass splashback - although it sounds like it should be added. Might not take my weight on a crash though!!

The space is great below. My only realy concern is the nav table which does not have its own seat and is not forward facing. I am trying to convince myself that this is not an issue.

Cheers

Hi
purchesed a 32 three years ago and been very pleased. Only bugs have been very minor, a loose bolt on a genoa track weeping and an incorrectly wired battery charger. Biggest problem was the French primary filter - just slap a CAV 296 in its place. Biggest downside is that the mainsheet is pretty poor and lets down the performance although I can easily outsail Bavs. Changing the sheeting system over this winter.

Can recommend the Dealer, very helpful, Jeanneau so-so on delivering warranty parts. Get there eventually.
Like the boat (I have the SO35 Lift Keel)and the quality-price ratio. Nav station is small, but they all are these days on this style of boat.
Mainsheet you get used to, but will never like. Look at Steve Carters own 32, he has a PX Camcleat to dump the main when required.
Used my boats shakedown as the Oostende trip this year, see you there next year.
PS it takes longer than you think to get it ready for launching.
PPS the Spinnaker fittings package is great value for money, just isnt described well in the blurb.
PM me if you want more. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Can't comment on that particular model but overall I have found Jeanneau build quality slightly better than most production boats. On the charter market they stand up to the extra wear better.

I recommend a visit to the factory.

Decide on all the extras you want before purchase and sort out from the dealer who is fitting them. As with all production boats the GRP often needs reinforcement (thats better added during the build) for extras so if you want spinnakker fittings or cruising shute or electric windlass its probably best to have those items fitted by the manufacturer. If buying new and some items are being added by the dealer get other quotes for these extras.
