Hi any idea why jeanneau Attalia is so cheap? is it light weight boat, very slow or may boat which in force 5 is impossible to sail because wind is too strong?
I saw one for sale few months ago where seller describe reason for sale is 'i need to change her for cruiser',she looks like cruiser(definitely she is not racer)
any opinion and comments please

Crewed on one of the early ones .Lifting keel model . Fairly comfortable for coastal cruising but certainly not an offshore cruiser . My experience was on estuaries only .This particular boat the stays pulled out / cracked the deck because of inadequate backing and water ingress into the balsa based deck. This was quietly fixed by Janneau at the time

Midsize Jeannaux of the era were a bit on the lightly built side. They do last and there are many stii around but they can have issues.I've heard of one that ran aground and cracked the bottom laminate and on a friends Rush we had to replace the laminate under the mast heel. They're not the sturdiest of boats but they're affordable.

I have owned an Attalia since 2005. It was built in 1986. We sail on average 850 NM annually in Danish & Swedish waters. We spend several week-ends and a 4 weeks' holiday each year in the boat. We do races every week at the local yacht club. We always come in last, about 15 min on a 6 NM course after more racing boats, such as First 37.7 and X-332.
It is a very comfortable boat. I have never had serious problems with it. I will be happy to provide more information.
A review from 2008:

A 30 years' old boat must have been carefully maintained to be worth any money, else be prepared for the Hanta Biru experience ;-)
Best regards
