How do I remove the propeller so that I can extract the cutlass bearing?
I've removed the blades but not sure what to do next.
What is the purpose of what looks like a socket head screw in the centre?
Any clues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure exactly what you mean. you don't say if the cutless bearing is housed in a P bracket, assuming it is you may find it easier to separate the shaft from the hub at the gearbox then remove the prop and hub as one. This may not be possible if the rudder is in the way. Cutless bearings can easily be removed with a hacksaw once the shaft is out of the way. Be careful not to damage the P bracket.

Wow - not another Sun Oddy 30?!! That's 2 of us!! ...

Ours is a fixed prop - remove the nut and get a prop puller to pull the prop off ... the cutlass bearing then just came straight out of the P Bracket.
