Went to the Essex boat jumble yesterday and spoke to a guy that sells new but reduced waterproofs. He suggested that the £99 JAG waterproof jacket was as good if not better than the much more expensive Musto gear. To be honest I will only be doing coastal sailing. Anybody bought any of these and if so what did you reckon ?
 
Sailing Today has a report on them in the magazine just published. Rates them highly...worth buying the magazine (or subscribe as I do).Paul

You were speaking to Norman of Spindrift in Benfleet. I have bought all my oilies from Spindrift for at least 10 years.
I bought Lynn the JAG Coastal suit when it came out, and it proved very good, better and more waterproof than my Gill Coastal jacket in every respect. So I bought a set as well.
Very good features, breathable, reinforced, furry pockets, reflective tape etc
The hood fits too without being too obtrusive

I would recommend these anytime, even if they were an extra few quid!

SWMBO and I bought a full suit each at Spindrift a couple of years ago.
I cannot recomend them highly enough, they are comfortable, warm, waterproof, they do breath and are a fraction of the cost of other brands.
Previously I had a Musto Ocean suit which has given many years of good service, but the JAG suit is just as good.
Its worth taking a visit to Spindrift's shop, they have a huge stock at very good prices - shame they don't have a web site to buy on-line
 
Bought a JAG suit 2 years back, seems very well put together and some nice touches incorporated,performs well, tend to alternate it with my Gill gear, and is just as good as that.......at times well used during our Scottish summers!!!
