Has anyone had success in getting a refund from XYLEM Water Solutions formerly Cleghorn Waring. I returned a Jabsco water pump recently which over the phone they agreed a refund less a 15% handling charge. After 10 days I rang to enquire progress and was told 2-3 weeks delay with no offer to confirm receipt of goods. It is now gone 3 weeks with no news. Not very good customer liason. On the positive side the online site delivered the goods by return of post.

I wish you well with this one. I needed two paper gaskets for my electric conversion pump, worth about at most £8-10. Had to buy a 'Kit' with loads of unnecessary parts for about £50.

Rip off, yes - but we all buy their loos because the whole thing is cheap to begin with. This is the price paid later.

On one of my visits to the UK I purchased a pump for my engine from Cleghorn Waring on which paid VAT and got the VAT refund forms from then sent the back to Cleghorn Waring but did not receive refund.

Will never deal with then again.

We have had some experience with returning a Jabsco pump as well. What we did was to send the pump to a Jabso distributor here in Amsterdam and asked for a warranty replacement. It took a few weeks and I called them up and they said that they could not do anything. I then contacted Xylem customer Service in USA directly and they said they wanted pictures and a mail wich was explaining the issue, wich I did and after a week the manager of Xylem contacted me in person and said they they glady will replace the pump and asked for my adress. He aslo asked if I could send the old pump to them so they could investigate what had happened. We had electrical fire in the micro pressure switch. So basically, when contact Xylem directly i US seems to work very good as they send out a new pump before they even got my old one. All cost including shipments was paid by Xylem.
The service we have got from them in US from Xylem has been perfect. Just remember that Customer service in Europe usually has lower standard then US.
IMHO
