My freshwater pump is a Par Max 2.9 - 31395-0392. It’s the 40psi version, installed by the previous owner. Also has a n accumulator.

It has an issue where it continues to run even once the taps are turned off. It recently blew a pump off a barb fitting due to the continuous pressure.

I’m planning to get a new pressure switch. I was thinking I probably don’t need 40psi - is it possible to put a 25psi rated switch on this pump? It might be kinder on the system and stop this problem reoccurring.

Do the diaphragms go on these things? I have run it dry a few times when emptying the tank. That may be another reason for the continuing pumping (according to the manual).
