Can anyone tell me the UK price for the complete pump unit (grey handle) in the UK? Replacement is not urgent so I can always bring one out next trip, if cheaper in the UK.

Here in Turkey I have been quoted the equivalent of £85, and did a passable impression of Ronnie Barker's Arkwright character going "HOW MUCH?".

OK, far too dear over here, unless other swindleries are cheaper. Pity the one on Ebay is in USA, as I guess shipping would be too expensive to bother.
Thank you both. When it stops raining I will go into town and look. I thought the rain here was bad, but SWMBO in Sussex tells me it is snowing there! All I need here is a dry day to get the antifouling on, and I will be ready to launch on Thursday.

is it too far gone for a refurb kit ... less than half the price of complete pump assemby ?

They were about £48 two weeks ago when I went to buy one, but on the newer replacement version, the pump handle locks down when not in use, which in turn totally blocks the valve at the bottom and prevents waste water running back into the poe. This was only £8 more, ie £56 so seemed like a sensible option, and it works well.

I do not want to refurbish the old black handle pump, but replace it with the newer grey handled one. I have already done this in one head, because the valve chamber body of that one developed a crack.

£59.99 at Mailspeed Marine for the lockdown version.

Excellent value when compared with 3 lots of service kits in 2 years, two of which were £50 in Riposto, Sicily!!

I've said it before, but it bears repeating. Based on my experience with service kits on old pumps, if anything goes wrong in future, I'll be replacing the whole pump.
