I posted recently about the trouble I was having fitting the hose to my new toilet without it leaking and that I couldn't get it to pump water in. Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions, I finally got it sorted today.
I tried a number of things and and eventually got it to pump. I replaced the top rubber valve and tried filling the inlet pipe with water and pumping and it worked but the inlet hose was still leaking where it joined the Jabsco. I was thinking of following Forum advice and buying some expensive pukka stuff but yesterday I was in Daunntless Chandlers on Canvey Island looking for something else when I saw a whole pile of pipes. I bought a couple of metres of clear but reinforced pipe for a fiver, more to see if it would work than as a serious replacement. Anyway, I fitted it today and no leaks! When talking to the guy in the chandlers he said that the three quarter inch pipe comes in 18, 19 and 20mm sizes and the new pipe was definitely smaller than the first one, I had to use the hot water trick to get it on.
So, I will see how it goes. For the time being I have a new, clean heads for Mrs TL when she is on the boat, lots of brownie points there!
Anyway, thanks guys for all your suggestions, I thought I would let you know how it turned out.
