Jabsco Macerator Pump

Well the Jabsco toilet Macerator pump has burnt out onboard. I dare say trying to turn some sanitary towel into pulp. The crew all deny putting anything down there that wasn't eaten first. The pump was new in January but I can hardly blame Jabsco. The evidence will be revealed once I dismantle it.
Anyway, I have been quoted from several sources £169. Anyone know if the electric motor is the same thing as a cheaper pump that I could swap out for. Alternatively any cheaper suppliers out there? If so PM me or 07976846497. I need the pump on Friday.

try taking it to a auto starter/gen shop that rebuilds or to an appliance repair shop, or to an electric motor repair. at that quoted price you might try 'westmarine.com' as the pump is in the catalog at $129.99 plus shipping.

Are you sure the motor is burned out...that it's not just clogged? A clogged impeller that can't spin will cause the motor to overheat, but it SHOULD trip the safety switch that shuts it down or blow the breaker or fuse before it burns out the motor....it's designed that way to prevent a fire aboard.

So I wouldn't give up on it till you've taken it apart and cleaned out the clog.
