Jabsco loos, blockages and general thoughts please ?? need info..

Re: Jabso Lois, blockages and general thoughts please ?? need info..

lol, interesting discussion guys..

yes, we do the snake killing every 6 to 8 months...
We have set up the water in the bowl at different levels.. I agree with the washing up bowl.. but it shouldn't be needed..

We use vinegar, Agua Fuerte too.

We also notice that the flush on the lavac is not as good as the one on the jabsco (on a friends boat)..

The location of the pump too, on the lavac, the pump (on our boat) is behind a wooden partition leading to difficult access, no real room to surface mount it and it would look awful too.. I like the idea of the compact side mounted pumps like the Jabsco.
(For access etc)

I don't really want to go down the route of paper being put in a bag- like Greece. Although, yes, I suspect the larger 'dump' might consume more paper lol... adding to the problems.
A pal of mine who is here at the mo used to run a training school for yottmisters inc the fast track .. lads, mostly.. muchos beer, curry etc etc.. he has a Jabsco and swears by it, only occasionally swearing AT it...

So, for me.. its bye bye lavac, sob sob.. also at the next haul we are changing the blakes seacocks to more modern ones - they have been in nearly 30 years !!

A good part of life is having the morning dump whilst reading a third hand copy of Yotting Monthly..... ifone cant enjoy such a simple pleasure it is outrageous...

Just don t drill a hole in the corner of the magazine when finished and hang it on a cord loop..... It will be worse than even the worst supasoft....

My dear friend The Headmisress being a Southern Gal would be horrified at the thought of all these loos with a bag of dirty paper hanging on the door handle!!!!!!!! I think you ll find her answer if you read her books......Ues the cheapest toilet paper which DOES NOT contain skin softener etc and which disolves as soon as it gets wet.

You can either get it at Tesco for peanuts ot from a sanition supplier for an arm and a leg and described as extra soluble marine quality /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gifLoL.

Peggie often referred to the problems of using modern toilet papers in marine loos and I have always followed this advice . Just look for the loo rolls sold in packets of two....They never never seem to be sold in any larger packs so if you packs of 4 and 6 then you could be inviting problems .. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The only downside of the cheap paper is it does disintergrate on becoming wet so beware after a good curry..... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
