Hi All

Looking for advice. I have purchased a boat with a Jabsco lite electric head that fills, and fills again on flush but does not pump out. I can't hear the macerator pump running at all and the bowl just keeps filling up with each press. I have read a lot of posts about joker valves, blocked lines etc but would this mean that the macerator does not run at all? Is it likely to be a blocked or stuck macerator or a blown fuse? Can anyone give me details of how to break the toilet down to get to the macerator and diagnose.

Many thanks

Steve

Just been dealing with a similar situation - twas scale in me pipes;

Brick cleaner or vinegar.
Or take the pipes out - dance on them and flush through,

Is that just the large output pipe to the holding tank? I seem to have a single smaller inlet pipe and a larger output pipe that goes to the holding tank.

Smaller pipe will be water in and larger black water out.

The larger will be scaled up,

How easy is it to remove the larger pipe to the holding tank?

If difficult (as mine was) I emptied the head by hand and put in this:-

Kept trying the flush over several days and it cleared.
Flushed with plenty of water.

Be aware that is is an acid and so must be treated with respect.

Thanks for this! I have easy access to both ends of the outlet pipe so can disconnect, take outside and give it a good clean out. In your case, did the macerator pump out pump not even try to output? (Silent)?

I believe with the Jabsco lite there are 2 pumps - one for the rinse water and one for the macerator. You will certainly hear if the macerator is not running. If it is running, then it may be scaled pipes, but make sure it's running first. I think with this toilet that you remove the toilet seat then lift out the bowl to get access to the pumps. Jabsco do lots of useful video etc, worth doing a Google

Definitely not running which makes me think it may be jammed or fuse blown. But easiest thing to start with and a good maintenance is to probably clean out the pipes anyway. have seen a video that shows you can get the macerator out and try turning it with a screwdriver to see if its jammed. If not then possibly the fuse. Will try and get the toilet apart and take it from there!

Once pipe is out place it on the ground and stand on it over full lenght - this will loosen the scale. Or tap it with a hammer over full lenght.

Stick a hose in one end and flush it through.

White vinegar once a week should keep it clear.

Also remove iten 18 (hose) and clear that out.

Macerator pump may need a descale either chemically or take it apart and expose impellor (macerator) and clean all scale from housing and pump blades.
