I've got a manual pump type jabasco toilet on my Monterey and I've been finding that the tank is running back into it and filling the bowl. Not pleasant.

Is there any way to stop this. Is it better to have the switch on "fill" or "empty". I've tried both and it seems to fill up regardless.

Thanks!

The switch only controls the water "inlet" valves at the top.
You need to change (at a minimum) the joker (non-return) valve that lives just inside the discharge pipe.
As you rightly point out, failure of the joker valve is not a laughing matter.

Probably best to buy a service kit that includes all the valves and gaskets.
