J.J.Bickford - Last know whereabouts?

I an trying to find information about J.J. Bickford who was designing in the 1970's and had some boats built at C.H. Lavis, Exmouth. I have a Checkstone 31 Built by him.

Thanks chas I have written to them but 28 years is a long time to keep records so do't know what they will have (or have time to dig out for me)
