I have looked these engines up on the thread but to be honest couldn't work out if these were any good or a load of trouble ? Any advise very welcome !

IVECO 8060 family never had a great following.

Heads up on the installation would be most helpful, IVECO were never great policing fitment of their engines and very easy to screw up the very best engine with lousy installation.

thanks LS the boat is the 43 Atlantis success with Ancasta. Were these a reliable engine for plodding along or are they a higher revving engine ?Lastly did I read parts were very expensive for servicing - many thanks again

We have Iveco 300s on our recently purchased Birchwood TS41, bit smokey on start up (only been used infrequently for 2 years plus) but pootle nicely and seem fairly low revving at 9/10 knots. Only had her for 4 months so early days yet but engines have been serviced well and look to be good basic engineering. Will also push onto 25 knots with a clean bum, not bad for 20 year old, 12 ton, 45 footer.

There is another for sale, http://www.boatshop24.co.uk/advert/birchwood-ts41-lowestoft-haven-marina-suffolk/41179158 with refurb'd engines, quite a boat but negotiate hard on price.

Cheers
:encouragement:
