I have never bothered before but this site seems committed to huge, irrelevant, and un-closeable ads which conceal the content of posts. I'll see how it goes but there is a very immediate and obvious improvement in usability.

I'd much prefer a subscription based, ad-free service.

Guys, please don't install adblockers. We need plenty of you to go on watching all the irrelevant ads so that the ad revenue is maintained.

That will allow those of us (like me) who've used adblockers for years to go on enjoying a well-funded forum without having to watch ads that spoil our enjoyment of it.

I must say that I only find ads mildly annoying and they don't spoil my enjoyment. Closing the site down because of lack of revenue would spoil my enjoyment and I would have to blame selfish adblock users.

Use pi-hole (with a raspberry pi) and block ads a network level. I find this most important when browsing on my mobile via the boats wifi.

Hmm Duckduckgo. I'd like to like it, but I find it's not a patch on Google when it comes to search. I even typed in the exact title of a thread I was looking for and it wasn't on the first page. No problem with Google it was #1

I'd agree DuckDuckgo does not seem to produce good search results.
I use the Brave browser which also blovks ads and uses some sort of credit system to fund the sites you look at.
