Well i'm the proud owner of my first boat :)

Paid me money and collected the keys today - so watch out for the L plates on the Medway:eek:

Sea Ray 270 Sundancer

Sea Ray 270, good choice, we were berthed next to one for a few years, good build quality and perfect layout and accomodation.
Does she have twin 4.3' mercruisers? if so she will fly along, just watch the fuel guage though & make sure you know when those manifolds and rissers were last changed (need to be done every 5 years in salt).

Roll on summer!

Oh yes 4.3ltr - yep you are right about the fuel, however a friend the same age as me recent had a heart attack (40!!) before this we were in two minds about buying a boat - but this put it all into prespective.. the Gym saved his life i'm really glad to say he making a good recovery

Enjoy your new boat Kelby.....
Become familiar with the motors with constant inspections/checking. If a small weep appears anywhere (thermostat housing or risor to manifold joint) attend to straight away.

Hi Kelby ...........Medway you say............... beware of a famous oldgit lurking in an old Princess doing a heady 6 knot, he'll tell you off if you go too fast :~)

Well done and welcome to this crazy club, there's no common sense reason but you're not alone, there's loads of us and what's more, we keep rejoining.

Searay give you a lot in a smaller size sub 30 feet as you have probably noticed. A friend of mine has had two and loved 'em both. Though he now has a Cruisers 300 similar to 'Andiemac' but very similar to the Searay.

I hope you have some great times out in her and that the 'Oldgit' doesn't give too harder time.

Roger.

Great Boat! Nice Layout, well built and the American sportscruisers are built for fun! I had a similar sized Regal with twin 4.3l inboards. Lots of benefits including monouverability, reliability and speed. Of Course the downside is the Petrol costs. However do not let the cost stop you from having fun. I used to put a lump sum aside in March and then use it to fund the boat. Although still paying for every litre of Petrol it felt better as I had already saved up the money!

Do not forget to explore the Thames. Plenty of Petrol available!

Have fun

Paul

First of all welcome.
And congrats for the new boat, quite a nice and fully equipped cruiser, well above the average first boat.
Shows a great commitment from the beginning, which can lead to dangerous future wishes, be warned. :)
Though after all the world economy needs just that: mads like us all, willing to throw money in big holes in the water...!
