After the Portland Plotter got cracked in a fight in the drawer with the first aid kit engine spares and winch handle I thought one of these would be good.

Will fit it tommorow and bore you with further pics. PS superglue seems to have fixed the plotter.

The yellowy green thing is an eraser cut into a wedge shape to stop the plotter rattling around.

That's lovely, Graham.

Next week, Graham shows us how to make a rocket, from 2 lengths of hose pipe and a rotten carrot.

I made an anchor light stand. I cut some stainless, ground it into shape and welded it onto 3ft stainless tube. I bought a £10 all round white light off ebay and I'm going to plug the whole thing into our autohelm socket at the stern. I cleverly spotted that this would be redundant when I was at anchor.

I also had to strip off our mainsheet traveller today, when it decided to let fly the mainsheet in Cardiff bay. One new pop rivet and she's good as new, and ready for fitting back on.

The sail was, er, interesting. Up to 27 knots. We went down past South Cardiff and up the back. Struggled coming over the top of the Cardiff grounds with the tide and most of the wind against us, but I'm typing this, so something must have worked.

Louise reckons I didn't shout that much and that nobody heard the swearing, anyhow.
