I've been "invited" to help assess the son's inherited Spray 42.

She's alongside at the moment and, tentatively, we have hoisted the mizzen which seems to have straightforward rigging. The sheets run back down the boom to the cockpit winches.
The main has defied comprehension. Although there is a (fairly) obvious route from the mast to the cockpit, The tail end of the sheet needs to be attached to the deck (or wheel house) somewhere but there is no obvious fixing. Scouring the Bruce Roberts site and the various adverts for similar Spray 42s has not revealed any hints.
Any ideas would be very welcome.

Foot of mizzen, was my first thought, or just forward of mizzen (aft of cockpit)?

A quick skim of Google images suggests different owners/builders have made different arrangements, but often the mainsheet is seen angled backwards and downwards. At least one had the mainsheet forming a triangle, with two anchor points, one either side of the centreline (on the leading edge of the aft coachroof?). Some are taken downwards to fixed canopy or wheelhouse over cockpit.

The fixing point on the boom seems to be adjacent to the second reef eye. Both are riveted to the boom.
The aft end of the boom is not really a candidate as the lines would foul the deckhouse.
There is an eye on the mizzen mast but it is just rivetted on and would be mainly in tension due to the angles involved. Apart from that, there is no obvious alternative the attachment on the boom.
So apparently simple but so baffling.
Son is trying to get in touch with someone who sailed with the previous owner to ask if she has any photos or useful detailed memories.

Resolution.
There is an athwartships rotten wooden locker just before the "wheelhouse" under the tarp in the photo. At each athwartship end, there is an eye that is welded (now inadequately) to the steel deck. These two eyes are admirably positioned to take the main sheet tails.
However, there is so much mobile junk and so many toys below decks that the slightest heel would result in crashin' and bangin' sufficient to waken the gods.
There will be a fair few months work before considering leaving the dock side.
