I\'v got a flasher onboard !

I have to confess that I'm a raggie but I'm in need of some advice and I know that there are some pretty knowlegable petrol heads on this forum ( besides people seem a bit touchy on scut butt at the moment ) . I'v a small Stuart Turner petrol engine fitted (I know I know ) anyway checking the points etc ( its coil ignition ) I noticed that they were producing a bright blue spark with such intensity that you nearly needed welding goggles to look at it . I'v replaced the points and condenser and its still the same it really is one hell of a spark !! Any ideas chaps??? (oh btw it also has now started spitting back through the carb )
Any helpfull advice , apart from using it as a mooring weight , would be welcome.
Cheers

Terry

" producing a bright blue spark " thats a good sign, have you got a spark at the plug, the engines i worked on had magnetos, have you got the timing right?
