It\'s sold...

Well! that's an era at an end. Ocean Eagle is no longer mine. The buyer brought me a Bankers Draft paying off the whole amount. I have signed the Bill of Sale and she now has a new proud owner.
SIGH! Oh how I am going to miss fuel bills, repair bills and mooring fees. How will I sleep at night knowing that I don't have to pay exhorbitant licence fees on the Thames and Marina charges when visiting. Can I live with no longer worrying about anti-fouling, cutlass bearings and anodes. After 50 years of owning boats this is all so new to me, even my paper round money used to go toward running my little coracle.

It must be a gut wrenching feeling to be without the addiction. Cold Turkey. I know it was hell without my boat for 6 months last year.

Do you still have the other boats to potter round the Thames?

Just make sure that you're a more regular poster here, now that you have some time not worrying about anodes and antifouling etc.

Your fabulous sense of humour and wealth of knowledge are much need, even though you don't often condescend to impart them!

I still have my ex-thames conservancy patrol boat, in fact took the new owners of Ocean Eagle out in it for a run tonight, ended up at the Beetle & Wedge where we sampled the delights of their wide and varied alcoholic beverages.

Well that's a relief. I might have spent hours writing a deep and meaningful commiserations essay.
