Really enjoyed above article in May issue of PBO - a female sailor bought a trapper 300 to sail herself,having spent 35 years sailing without ever taking the helm on the family boat - freely admitting to a few mistakes along the way as she got used to decision making and the skippers role but hats off to her - hope I have as much bottle when I'm hitting retirement age

Last night my mate was telling me about a friend of his mother's, who has just bought an old Leisure 17 without knowing the first thing about sailing, and is careering around some big harbour having a whale of a time while finding out. He was rather disapproving about this, but I reckon good on her
