The speedo looks like it's from a Cortina.

I would say a Lotus Cortina Broom .

I remember speed boat trips from Clacton Pier. Don't spose mum took over for a while ?

Can't help you with boat ID, but couldn't help noticing your mum was over reliant on her hearing.

Call me old fashioned but I like to see the person on the wheel have their eyes open. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yare craft as made by the Sutton Family in Gorleston in the 60s?

[/ QUOTE ]

Indeed it is.

13' 6" Yarecraft, cold moulded with Teak/Holly decks.

1964 boat, and this pic probably 1965 at Studland Bay. Mums number now ex directory, and she is 76 now.

Dad had a Bundy 30 engine originally, then a Mercury 35 and finally a Mercury 50.

Sold it in 1974 when we moved to Kent.

I learnt to ski behind that boat when I was 8, as we towed it to Spain. It was also seen in Yugoslavia in 1970, so very well travelled.
Mainly though, it was used off Seasalter and Herne Bay, except on holidays to visit Grandad at Sunbury On Thames, and Billing Aquadrome in Northampton on the Nene.

Me and Dad taught Mrs Full Circle to ski in 1972 under the lee of Old Harry at the end of Studland.

Happy days.
